And so the holidays are here! The house is adorned from top to bottom with lights and ornaments. Our days have been filled listening to Christmas music, baking sugar cookies, wrapping presents and looking forward to some quality time with our families. Ryder got to visit Santa and told him that he has been super good this year. When Santa asked what he would like for Christmas, his reply was,”Angry Birds.” Thank goodness for Santa’s elves because that narrowed it down….A-LOT! From our family to yours, may your holidays be merry & bright and Happy 2012!

They are the type of couple who walk into a room, jaws drop. They are gorgeous, funny and crazy in love, plain and simple. This is one of my favorite pictures captured by Greg Bumatay as Liz and Peter had just got married and are entering their getaway car. Here is a sneak peek of their wedding day. I can’t wait to share the rest with you soon!

Seeing the two of them together was as if they had known each other their whole lives, but within a couple years, they knew they were meant to spend forever together. I had the privilege working with Lexie & Erik plan their dream destination wedding at one of the most sought after locations on the west coast…Pelican Hill. They are both from Arkansas with accents to die for, not to mention how adorable they are! Planning their special day was so important especially since Lexie would see it for the first time on the week of her wedding.
Lexie’s style was avant-garde and very chic! She knew she wanted a wow-factor! From the very beginning we created a design, came up with an glamorous wedding full of white, mirrored accents, blush tones and more white! She gave me her ideas and I ran off with it. We had an incredible team of very talented vendors who helped make the day as amazing as it was. Gavin & Erin Wade captured all the lovely details from the day. Nisie from Enchanted Florist designed the lush wedding florals around our theme, with linens from Wildflower Linens and decor from Luxe Event Rentals & Chiavari Chair Rentals.
The day was all she hoped for and we were so excited to see our conversations and emails come to life! Their wedding included a total of 23 guests for a private and intimate destination wedding. It was charming and everyone had the time to really enjoy one another and celebrate.
Lexie and Erik, thank you for having us be a part of your wedding day! We loved every moment of it and wish you both all the love and happiness.
Christian Louboutin shoes were Lexie’s something “Blue” and they were GORGEOUS! Gavin & Erin are brilliant when it comes to detail shots. Such a fun way to capture their rings.
Lexie’s dress was a Ines Di Santo gown full of peonies that cascaded along her dress. It was as if that dress was made just for her. Flawless Faces did her hair & makeup and Lexie could not have looked more beautiful!
Erik’s expression is priceless once he saw Lexie walking down the aisle with her father. So romantic!!

Tomorrow we are hosting Thanksgiving at our home and my wonderful husband is cooking everything! Definitely one of the MANY things I am thankful for, he cooks…I clean. An even trade? Not so sure considering the hours of prep and cooking time that goes into the whole day. This also does not count the many frequent visits I make into the kitchen looking for snacks to delay the process, but since he is the chef in the house and grilled cheese is the extent of my version of Iron Chef, we have got a good deal.
In the midst of the family cooking chaos, comes the joy in seeing our son appreciate holiday traditions. Ryder is now 4 and he is loving every second of the holidays. It is so fascinating to see him take in all the wonder of this time of year. This morning he woke up and told me to make a list for him to give to Santa with some of his wish list items. I couldn’t stop laughing as he was entirely serious and even told me to call Santa to make sure he receives it. Sometimes I wish Ryder would stay little forever even though he is growing up so fast…our times together as a family are what I live for. Tomorrow will soon be another cherished memory as we share the joy of it all…
Every Thanksgiving we go around the table and everyone shares what they are most thankful for. It’s moments like these that I want to pause life and take it all in. I am thankful for so much it always seems difficult to narrow it down, it is not like we are timed, thank goodness, so I might as well make sure I don’t miss anything. I am thankful for my loving husband, family and friends, who inspire me everyday and teach me that the sky is the limit. My son, Ryder, who I love more than life itself makes me laugh so hard my stomach hurts. My loving little cats & dog, who love unconditionally. Most of all, I am thankful for GOD for it is because of him I am so lucky to have such blessings in my life.
I hope you have safe travels getting from here to there, wherever that may be. From our family to yours, we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
They are adorable, loving and had me at hello! Rachel and Jon are a fancy foodie duo with insurmountable talent when it comes to cooking & food styling. Together, they are J and R Foods…Meet Jon and Rachel. She’s a little bit country, he’s a little bit rock n’ roll. Rachel loves baking, old farmhouses, good food, ice cream scoops, and a great pair of glittery shoes. Jon is a professional chef who loves collecting books, good food, great music, and Rachel.
The inspiration was Southern Charm with a touch of vintage. Rachel was inspired by Southern Food and since they are both foodies, Rachel and Jon wanted to have their guests feel at home the moment they arrived to the wedding. The Richard Nixon Library was the perfect place since the South was well…a bit far. The East Wing reminded of us of those old luxurious Southern homes that were always hosting opulent parties, so it became uniquely theirs.
Rachel is extremely creative and is talented with DIY projects like none other! Together, they both created their favors with a special jam for the guests with a label that said “Spread the Love.” She crochet and sewed the lovely fabric for her chuppah, and created her escort cards after recipe cards for her guests. How cute is that?! All the items for the escort card table were vintage kitchen utensils from her relatives that she collected. Megan from Honey and Poppies designed the floral centerpieces with books from Jon & Rachel’s own collection of good reads. Melody from Sweet and Saucy created the delicious sweets table, with PIES!!!! Yummy. Gabriel Ryan shot all the lovely photos…a favorite, we just love him!
In life the things that matter most are Friends, Family & Faith. Kristin and Joe have it all and an adorable son, William. Kristin and Joe come from such loving families and together, they make the perfect pair.
Kristin’s wedding was full of platinum, white and a touch of black. Melody from Sweet and Saucy created such a gorgeous cake and the jeweled sugar flower was designed after the brooch from her wedding invitation. Even the flowers, designed by Jaclyne from Heavenly Blooms were adorned with crystals and rhinestones…and the shoes were radiant, who doesn’t love a pair of Badgley Mischka?! I know I do!!! All the images were taken by the lovely Christine Bentley.
Their wedding was held on the most popular date of the year! 11.11.11 was a special day to say the least and we were thrilled to be a part of it. Congratulations to Kristin & Joe! We wish you all the love and happiness in the world!

They are so beautiful…from the inside out. There is a unmistakable love between them that fills the air. They are fun, romantic and one of the greatest sets of parents in the world. With all the love between Kristin & Joseph, all the excitement surrounds the anticipation of their wedding day.
Every time I am around them, I cannot help but to feel giddy and just as happy to be a part of their wedding day!

This has got to be one of my favorite holidays…EVER! Well…almost. Every year I get so giddy anticipating the fall and winter, I always count down the days until Starbucks begins serving their Pumpkin Spice Lattes.
Beyond the excitement of fall comes the joy of Halloween and the crazy ways we can possibly decorate our home full of spider webs and spooky décor. Today, I will be working on convincing my husband to dress up as we go trick-or-treating with our son, Ryder and our dog, Irish. I, of course couldn’t resist the urge of buying another costume or shall I say, costumes for Irish. Yes, I dress up our dog and Cory thinks Irish rather not dress up…but it’s not like I forced her, she wanted to dress up.
Here is a lovely pic of Irish channeling her inner Batman…more like BATDOG! From our family to yours, we wish you a wonderful and Happy Halloween!
