The power of Pinterest has taken over the world by storm! Pinterest has seriously got to be the best thing since sliced bread. I have always loved creating inspiration boards. I still remember in classes in elementary school when my teacher would ask all of us in class to clip pictures from magazines that represented who we are and one day will be. It included everything from dream homes, favorite foods, clothes, colors, you name it, you had the power to create wish board that would someday be.
Since Pinterest has sparked the likes of many, I too have become an avid lover of this pinning board phenomena. I use it for just about everything, for ideas on how to put together a crafty project to places I want to visit. Most importantly, I love using for my clients’ weddings. The L.A. Times just recently featured a story of Grand Engagements on the Power of Interest in the wedding industry, read the article here.
From the moment you become engaged, you are living in a whirlwind of the excitement of planning your wedding, but where does one start? First, you will need to create an account if you haven’t already done so. I tell my clients that by going on Pinterest under Wedddings & Events, you can see so many different styles of weddings that you would be drawn to. The pictures that you like, you simply click on “pin” and add it to your personalized board(s). You can have as many boards as you like, some geared specifically toward one style of a wedding that you like to a variety of themes.
It gets better because you can share your board(s) with your friends and family. This comes in super handy when you have a bridal party that you want to get input on and share ideas. Just a warning, this does become horribly addicting as you can quickly access Pinterest on your iPhone and pin away. You no longer have to sit at a computer to save or print pictures. Gone are the days when you had to carry around dozens of wedding magazines for inspiration.
